St. John Lutheran Church is a confessionally Lutheran LCMS congregation organized in 1871.   The church building and parsonage are located in rural Atwater, Minnesota.   St. John  is a member of the LCMS Minnesota South District.  Worship services are held each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. with Holy Communion being administered twice monthly.  Sunday School and adult Bible Study are at 9:00 a.m.

St. John is blessed with a congregation of active members.  There are several potluck meals served during the year in addition to the annual Oktober Feast, Oyster Stew Supper, Advent and Lenten Suppers, and Pastor Appreciation Day.  The children's Christmas Program is traditionally held on Christmas Eve.  Confirmation classes and youth group are held on Wednesday evenings.   Our handbell choir plays and musically talented members sing periodically through the year.

Please join us in the LCMS weekly Memory Verse Challenge:        Week of Nov. 29,2023 Romans 8:38–39For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Please remember to add to your list of daily news the amazing resources and words of hope from our synod at www.lcms.org.  Additionally, Concordia Publishing House (www.cph.org) has insightful resources and LWML offers free online bible studies https://www.lwml.org/home.
